Our Story

Rosin Bag Roasters was born from a lifetime in baseball—and everything the game taught me along the way.

I spent almost two decades in professional baseball, including parts of seven seasons in the Major Leagues. I experienced the highs that every player dreams about, but I also experienced the other side of the game—the long bus rides, early mornings, late nights, injuries, releases, comebacks, uncertainty, and the constant fight to earn another opportunity.

Baseball taught me that talent matters, but grit keeps you going.

You learn to show up when you're tired. You learn to compete when things aren't going your way. You learn to support the guy next to you. And eventually, you realize that some of the most important lessons the game teaches have very little to do with what happens between the lines.

Coffee was always part of that world. It was there in the clubhouse, on the road, during early mornings, and through long days at the ballpark. Years later, that connection helped inspire an idea:

What if I could bring the culture and character of baseball into a premium coffee brand?

That idea became Rosin Bag Roasters.

The name comes straight from the game. A rosin bag is simple, but every pitcher understands its purpose: get a grip.

And that's a pretty good metaphor for life.

Sometimes life gets difficult. Sometimes the plan changes. Sometimes you get knocked down and have to figure out what comes next. You get a grip, make the adjustment, and keep moving forward.

That's the spirit behind RBR.

The Grit Series represents the work ethic, toughness, and competitive mentality I learned through baseball—the willingness to embrace the grind and keep going when things get difficult.

The RBR Series represents the personality and culture of the game itself. It's inspired by the clubhouse, the ballpark, the characters, the conversations, and the experiences that stay with you long after the final out. It's baseball and coffee brought together with the unmistakable personality of Rosin Bag Roasters.

The Honor Bound Series represents service, sacrifice, loyalty, patriotism, and deep respect for those who have given something of themselves for others — especially those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Together, those three collections form the foundation of Rosin Bag Roasters, while limited editions and special releases give us opportunities to tell new stories without losing sight of who we are.

Throughout my life and baseball career, I've seen what can happen when somebody steps up and helps another person at the right time. I've also seen former players struggle after their playing days are over, veterans who deserve our respect and support, and young ballplayers who simply need an opportunity.

That's why our mission became:

Coffee with a Purpose.

As Rosin Bag Roasters grows, our goal is to use the company to help support youth baseball, veterans, and former professional baseball players and their families in times of need.

We're building a coffee company, but we're also building a community—one centered around hard work, perseverance, loyalty, gratitude, and giving back.

The game gave me a lot.

Rosin Bag Roasters is one way of paying some of it forward.

So pour a cup. Get a grip. Take on whatever is in front of you.

And keep grinding.
