2. What kind of coffee does Rosin Bag Roasters Co. use?
We use 100% Arabica, specialty-grade coffee, scoring 80 or higher on the SCA scale. Our coffees are third-party tested and small-batch roasted in Bend, Oregon, helping us deliver the quality and consistency we expect from every RBR roast.
3. How fresh is RBR coffee?
Freshness is one of the things that separates RBR from coffee that may have been sitting on a store shelf for months.
Our coffee is roasted fresh weekly, averaging approximately 4.3 days from roasting to shipment. It is packaged to help preserve freshness so your coffee arrives ready to brew and enjoy.
4. What roast levels do you offer?
We offer a range of roast levels so there's something for just about every coffee drinker:
Light • Light-Medium • Medium • Medium-Dark • Dark
Each roast has its own flavor profile and personality, so whether you prefer something bright and smooth or bold and full-bodied, there's an RBR coffee for you.
5. What's the difference between light and dark roasts?
Generally, lighter roasts retain more of the coffee bean's original characteristics and can offer brighter, more complex flavors.
As the roast becomes darker, the roasting process develops deeper flavors. Medium roasts provide a balance between the bean's natural characteristics and flavors created during roasting, while medium-dark and dark roasts tend to deliver richer, bolder, and more developed flavors.
There isn't a right or wrong roast level. It comes down to the flavor you enjoy most.
6. Does light roast have more caffeine than dark roast?
The difference in caffeine between light and dark roast is generally smaller than many people think.
The amount of caffeine in your cup can also depend on how much coffee you use, whether you're measuring by weight or volume, the grind size, and your brewing method.
So rather than choosing your roast based strictly on caffeine, we recommend choosing the flavor and roast profile you enjoy most.
7. Do you offer whole bean, ground coffee, and K-Cups?
Yes. Depending on the individual RBR roast, coffee may be available as whole bean, ground coffee, or single-serve pods compatible with K-Cup brewers.

8. What's the best way to brew RBR coffee?
RBR coffee can be enjoyed using just about any brewing method you prefer, including traditional drip, pour-over, French press, espresso, and single-serve brewing.
Use fresh, filtered water and adjust your coffee-to-water ratio to your preferred strength.
For our Cold Front Brew, we recommend using a coarse grind when preparing traditional cold brew. The longer steeping process works especially well with a coarser grind.
Ultimately, the best brewing method is the one that makes the cup of coffee you enjoy.
9. What's the best way to store my coffee?
Keep your coffee sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.
Once opened, reseal the bag tightly after each use to limit exposure to air.
For everyday use, there's generally no need to refrigerate or freeze your coffee. Properly sealed and stored at room temperature, your RBR coffee will stay protected while you work your way through the bag.
